MASHUP: ARCHIPELAGO JOINS DOZENS OF DIFFERENT GAMES INTO ONE SHARED RANDOMIZER
Archipelago: a multi-game randomizer that swaps items between different games

Archipelago is the long-running community project that ties separate games together into one run. Each player's game is randomized, and items get shuffled across games, so the upgrade you need in your Zelda run might be sitting in a friend's Super Metroid or Hollow Knight, and finding it there sends it to you. Players connect through a shared multiworld server, and dozens of games are supported through community-made worlds. Version 0.6.8 (4 October) added Gauntlet Legends, removed Donkey Kong Country 3 and brought a batch of core fixes. It's free and open source, made by the ArchipelagoMW community.
You need: Your own copy of each game you play in it (a ROM dumped from your own cartridge, or a PC copy). Archipelago ships no game code or data.
How to play
- Download Archipelago 0.6.8 from the GitHub releases page.
- Create a settings file (YAML) for your game from the archipelago.gg game pages.
- Generate or join a multiworld session and play alongside friends' different games.
