Battlefront Eternal is a new fan-made engine for Star Wars: Battlefront (2004) that plays the original maps, armies, sounds and music from your own Steam or GOG copy. Directed and play-tested by Josh Lambert, with much of the code written by AI coding assistants, it has a new WebGL renderer built on Three.js, a new audio engine, a rebuilt front end and new netcode. Development previews run on Windows and Linux. They cover Instant Action on all 16 original maps plus Jabba's Palace, vehicles, bots, and server-based multiplayer up to 32 versus 32 with no account needed. Battlefront II (2005), Galactic Conquest and the Historical Campaign are planned, with no dates promised. No original game files are included. The latest preview on GitHub is 0.1.0-preview.330.
