NEW FREE TOOLKIT: 11 CLAUDE SKILLS TO HELP YOU PORT PS2 GAMES YOU OWN TO PC

The Console skill: 11 Claude skills that walk you through porting a PS2 game you own to PC with PS2Recomp

The Console skill by Jakeschincariol is a free, MIT-licensed set of 11 Claude skills for porting PlayStation 2 games you own to PC. The heavy lifting is done by ran-j's open-source PS2Recomp static recompiler, which turns a game's MIPS code into C++; the skills help with the weeks of work between 'it compiles' and 'it plays': reading crash logs, finding functions in Ghidra and writing the missing pieces of the console. Separate skills cover the reverse engineering, the backend, graphics, sound, controllers and shipping to laptop, Steam Deck or phone, plus a Mod skill that builds plain-English changes into the game as code. The method began as hkmodd's ps2-recomp-Agent-SKILL. It's a toolkit, not a ready-made port: you still need PS2Recomp built and your own disc dumped on your own computer.

PlayStation 2 games you own → Windows / Mac / Linux · by Jakeschincariol · 2026-10-22

You need: Claude (or Claude Code), Python 3.8+, PS2Recomp cloned and built (CMake 3.20+, a C++20 compiler), and your own PS2 disc dumped on your own computer with a DVD drive. No ISOs or BIOS are provided.

How to play

  1. Install the skills: paste the repo link into Claude and ask it to install the skill, or add it as a Claude Code plugin.
  2. Clone and build PS2Recomp, and dump your own PS2 disc.
  3. Run /console-reverse to start the port and follow the skills from there.
