CO-OP ANYTHING: AI AGENTS TRY TO ADD ONLINE CO-OP TO SINGLE-PLAYER GAMES
Co-op Anything: an AI-agent playbook for adding online co-op to single-player games

cranebeaker's Co-op Anything is a playbook and MCP server for AI coding agents such as Claude Code, Codex and Gemini CLI. You point your agent at the repo and name a single-player game. The agent looks for existing co-op work, reverse engineers the game if it has to, builds the co-op, tests it with bots inside the game, and packages it so friends can join over Steam without port forwarding. Projects listed so far: Deus Ex (released), Fallout: New Vegas, Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Dungeon Keeper and S.T.A.L.K.E.R. The repo went up on 16 October. Results depend on the agent, and most games are still in progress.
You need: An AI coding agent (Claude Code, Codex, Gemini CLI, Cursor and others) and your own PC copy of the game you want to co-op. Results vary by game, and most are still in progress.
How to play
- Tell your agent to read the Co-op Anything repo and follow AGENTS.md.
- Name the single-player game you own and want to play in co-op.
- Share the packaged build with friends and join over Steam.
