WHAT THE FUNCTION?! DECOMP.WTF TURNS YOUR AI AGENT INTO A BYTE-PERFECT DECOMP MACHINE
decomp.wtf: point your AI agent at a game you own and get a byte-matching decomp

decomp.wtf is a new open-source (MIT) tool that hands any MCP-capable AI agent a game you own one function at a time, compiles every attempt with the game's original compiler and only accepts code that matches the original byte for byte. Drop in an N64, PS1, PS2, GameCube, Wii, GBA or DS ROM, disc image or program file and it finds every function, then agents claim and solve them while a map of the game turns green. You can also continue existing public decomps and decompile together. It runs locally on Linux and Windows, with macOS in beta, and needs Python 3.12+. It's the matching-decomp side of the AI wave behind recent ports, and an answer of sorts to critics like Banjo: Recompiled's lead, who called rushed AI ports 'disrespectful': here, nothing counts unless it matches.
You need: Python 3.12+, an MCP-capable AI agent, and your own game files (ROM, disc image or program file). No game files included.
How to play
- Install it following the README on GitHub or decomp.wtf.
- Load a game you own, or join a public decomp.
- Point your AI agent at it and let it claim functions.
