Lucas-blip-png's DKB Recomp turns Donkey Kong Bananza, Nintendo's Switch 2 platformer, into a native Windows x86-64 program with a Vulkan renderer and no emulator. The game's ARM64 code (180,061 functions) is translated to C ahead of time and compiled into one executable, and its NVN 2 graphics calls are answered by a PC implementation, with all 4,820 shader stages of the first 3D scene converted to SPIR-V. The README says that, as far as the team knows, no other static recompilation of a Switch 2 game is public. It is built on valentderah's TotK Recomp, the Tears of the Kingdom PC recomp we covered in October, and takes function names from the GRAnimated/DKBananza symbol project. It is early: the game boots through the title screen into the tutorial cave, where you can walk and punch through the mining tunnel with the guide movies playing, but it still crashes after a few minutes on NVIDIA cards and many effects are missing. There is no release; an installer builds the game from your own dump, and the project is asking AMD and Intel owners to test.
