90S TOY-CAR RACER FUN TRACKS REBUILT FROM SCRATCH: NATIVE ON WINDOWS AND ANDROID
Fun Tracks (1997) rebuilt from its decompiled code, native on Windows and Android, v0.4.0 alpha

Karlos-fr has rebuilt Fun Tracks, the 1997 top-down racer with toy cars on dirt tracks, cornfields and canyons, from its decompiled C code. The original FUN_WIN.EXE (built with Visual C++ 4.2) was turned back into C routine by routine and checked against the original machine code with the same 1996 compiler, most of it byte for byte; that code was then moved to a modern 64-bit project, with DirectDraw, DirectSound and DirectInput replaced by SDL3 and a new GPU renderer for the 3D picture. A test harness plays scripted races with a fixed clock and records every frame to check it against the original. Windows 64-bit and Android ARM64 builds are out; v0.4.0 alpha landed on Oct 29, after three alphas in three days. F11 switches between the new 3D renderer and the original one.
You need: Your own Fun Tracks game files. Windows 10/11 64-bit with a DirectX 12 GPU, or Android 10+ on 64-bit ARM with a gamepad (tested on the AYN Odin 2 Portal). No game files are included.
How to play
- Download FunTracks-0.4.0-alpha-windows-x64.zip (or the Android APK) from Releases.
- On Windows, extract FunTracks.exe and fun_tracks_recomp.ini into your own Fun Tracks game folder.
- Run FunTracks.exe; Alt+Enter toggles fullscreen and F11 the renderer.
