GOD OF WAR: ASCENSION BOOTS NATIVELY ON PC IN AN EARLY PS3 RECOMP

God of War: Ascension (PS3) recomp reaches the first level on PC

arnaldolima1's Ascension translates God of War: Ascension's PS3 PPU and SPU code to C++ and compiles it for Windows, on sp00nznet's ps3recomp runtime. It's an experiment, not a playable game yet: it boots through the opening cinematic and main menu to the first level with Kratos in chains, but that level runs at about 9 FPS because the recompiled SPU code is the bottleneck. It renders with RPCS3's RSX code or its own D3D12 path. The same creator is behind Sparta and Olympus, PC recomps of the PSP God of Wars. For a playable God of War on PC, see the God of War III port on the wire. There's no release yet.
