BLOOD GULCH ON A CARTRIDGE: HALO CE MULTIPLAYER RUNS ON THE NINTENDO 64
Halo 64: Halo CE multiplayer runs on the Nintendo 64 with 4-player split screen and bots

JackTulli's Halo 64 compiles Halo: Combat Evolved's own decompiled game code for the N64's VR4300 CPU. That covers objects, physics, weapons, game types, the HUD and pathfinding, taken from the halo-ce-universal decompilation (opened Sep 26). It adds a new renderer, menu and sound built on libdragon and tiny3d. All 13 multiplayer maps are in, with 1–4 player split screen, up to 8 bots at four skill levels, Slayer, CTF, King of the Hill, Oddball, Race and a Firefight mode. It needs the Expansion Pak. The maps are converted from your own Xbox disc at build time, and nothing from the retail game is in the repo. It's another branch of the Halo decomp scene, following the halo-re project.
You need: Your own copy of Halo: Combat Evolved for the original Xbox (the build converts its maps). An N64 with the Expansion Pak, a flashcart, or an accurate emulator such as ares. Keep the ROM you build to yourself.
How to play
- Clone the repo and follow the README build steps.
- Point the build at your own Halo CE Xbox files to convert the maps.
- Run the ROM on an N64 with the Expansion Pak or in ares.
