The House of the Dead: ReWrithe is a fan-made C++ rewrite of Sega's 1996 light-gun shooter that merges the arcade original (Model 2C, Revision A) and its 1998 PC port, picking the better version system by system, and it can draw either the arcade's more detailed models and textures or the PC's. v1.0.0 shipped on 1 November with every chapter playable start to finish, and v1.0.1 followed the same day. The README says Anthropic's Claude assisted with the reverse engineering and rewrite, directed and tested by the author, and warns of flashing lights and horror violence. No game data is included: you supply your own arcade ROM set and 1998 PC game, and a setup script builds the playable exe.

How to play Arcade on PC

Download hotd-rewrithe-v1.0.1-win64.zip from the creator's GitHub releases and unzip it (not into Program Files).
Put your own arcade ROM zip in data\arcade and your 1998 PC game in data\pc.
Run HOTDReWritheSetup.bat once, choose your files, then Play.
