MASHUP: REAL MINECRAFT RUNS INSIDE LEFT 4 DEAD 2 SO YOU CAN BARRICADE AGAINST THE TANK
L4D2 × Minecraft: Minecraft blocks and Steve inside Left 4 Dead 2

Rizen1322's L4D2 × Minecraft runs both games at once and joins them with a Python bridge. Left 4 Dead 2's Source engine owns the map, movement and infected, while Minecraft supplies the blocks, inventory, items and player models. You can place and break blocks on L4D2 maps, swing a diamond sword, block with a shield, and use TNT, ender pearls and food, as Steve. Golems fight the infected, hostile mobs attack survivors, and Tanks can target Minecraft mobs. Version 2.0.12 (13 October) added performance presets. Solo and a two-player co-op run have been tried by the author, but co-op is still experimental, and only the supported items work, not all of Minecraft. It joins the other Minecraft passthrough mashups on the wire. Setup builds your mod files locally: the release holds neither game.
You need: Your own copy of Left 4 Dead 2 and your own copy of Minecraft: Java Edition, on Windows 10 or 11 with .NET Framework 4.8. The companion app also needs the official L4D2 Authoring Tools. Neither game is included.
How to play
- Download L4D2MC-Companion from the Releases page.
- Check the detected game folders, close both games and press Update and install.
- Launch the L4D2MC Fabric profile from your normal Minecraft launcher.
