MASHUP: LIBERTYCRAFT LETS YOU PLAY GTA IV AS A MINECRAFT PLAYER IN LIBERTY CITY

Mashup: LibertyCraft puts a Minecraft player inside GTA IV's Liberty City, v0.1.11

mrborghini's LibertyCraft runs the real Minecraft: Java Edition hidden in the background (via Fabric) alongside Grand Theft Auto IV: Minecraft owns your movement, inventory, hotbar and the blocks you place and break, while GTA IV owns the camera and the picture and draws those blocks inside Liberty City with GTA's lighting. Per the README it is early but playable: collision follows GTA IV's map, combat and crimes work both ways, and your Minecraft character plays Niko in cutscenes and cars. It is a port of the idea, and most of the Minecraft-side code, of chasm's SkyCraft, which does the same for Skyrim, making it the latest host for that bridge after Skyrim and San Andreas. The first release came Oct 9 and v0.1.11 landed Oct 29, with Windows and Linux installers. The installer downgrades your Steam copy of GTA IV: The Complete Edition to 1.0.8.0 and adds the ASI loader, FusionFix and ZolikaPatch.

You need: Your own copy of GTA IV: The Complete Edition on Steam (the installer downgrades it to 1.0.8.0) and your own copy of Minecraft: Java Edition with Prism Launcher signed in. Windows or Linux. No game files are included.

How to play

1. Download libertycraft-windows.zip (or the Linux tarball) from Releases and check its SHA256.
2. Run the installer as the README explains; it sets up GTA IV 1.0.8.0 and the Minecraft side.
3. Start through Prism Launcher and GTA IV, then play Liberty City as a Minecraft player.
