SEGA'S LOST WORLD ARCADE GUN GAME GOES NATIVE ON PC WITH WIDESCREEN AND RAY-TRACED SHADOWS
LostWorldNative: Sega's 1997 Lost World arcade light-gun game recompiled to run natively on PC

snicolast's LostWorldNative takes The Lost World: Jurassic Park, Sega's 1997 Model 3 light-gun shooter, and recompiles the original arcade code to C++ with a new Vulkan renderer, so it runs as a Windows program rather than in an emulator. The README lists true 16:9 and 21:9 widescreen at any resolution, ray-traced sun shadows, ambient occlusion, new rain and lightning in the T-Rex storm, MSAA or NVIDIA DLAA, 120 Hz and up, mouse, gamepad with gyro or two mice for two players, and new Boss Fight and Survival modes with achievements. Light guns that Windows sees as a mouse (Sinden, Gun4IR) work as is. There is no prebuilt download yet: you build it once from source next to your own ROM set. The repo went up on Oct 26 under the MIT licence and is still being updated daily.
You need: Your own copy of the arcade ROM set lostwsga.zip (Japan, Rev. A, Sega Model 3 Step 1.5; other versions won't work). Windows 10/11 64-bit, a Vulkan GPU, Python 3 and Build Tools for Visual Studio 2022 (C++). No game files are included.
How to play Arcade on PC
- Download or clone the repository from GitHub.
- Put your own lostwsga.zip next to build.bat and run build.bat once (it takes a few minutes).
- Play with LostWorld.exe; options cover graphics, controls and free play.
