NO EMULATOR, ALL DRIFT: MARIO KART WII GOES NATIVE ON 3DS WITH GRAND PRIX AND BATTLE

Mario Kart Wii runs natively on Nintendo 3DS: v0.5.2 adds Grand Prix and Battle

Mario Kart Wii runs natively on Nintendo 3DS: v0.5.2 adds Grand Prix and Battle

MiniBandit's MKW-3DS continues dudewhat's original Mario Kart Wii port for Nintendo 3DS. It isn't an emulator: the game runs natively on the handheld, with kart physics from Kinoko (a recreation of Mario Kart Wii's physics) and rendering, audio and menus written for 3DS hardware. A builder converts your own disc's courses, characters, vehicles, menus, movies and sound into 3DS formats and outputs an installable CIA. On top of dudewhat's Solo VS release, the continuation adds Grand Prix at 50cc, 100cc and 150cc, Time Trials, all 12 vehicles per driver, Balloon Battle on all ten arenas with CPU opponents, a speedometer, MK7-style ramp tricks and drift smoke. v0.5.2 landed Oct 13 after the repo opened Oct 10. Coin Runners and Team VS are still in progress; Mirror and online play aren't in yet.

  2. Run the Build MKW CIA script and drag in your own disc image.
