SEGA'S OUTRUNNERS ARCADE RACER DECOMPILED AND PORTED TO PC, MAC, SWITCH AND ANDROID
OutRunners: Sega's 1992 arcade racer goes native on PC, Mac, Switch and Android from its decompilation

cheviman's OutRunners port turns Sega's 1992 System Multi 32 racer into a native game for Windows, Linux and macOS, with tools that build your own copies for a modded Switch, Android and Anbernic handhelds. It is built on the creator's outrunners-decomp, the arcade program decompiled into C and checked frame by frame against MAME in picture and sound. Two games come out of it: OutRunners Arcade, both cabinet screens side by side exactly as the original, and a home version in 16:9 with a 2-player split, network rooms and the & Knuckles reverse-route mode. v1.0.0 landed on 30 October and v1.1.0 followed on 31 October. Like the Super Mario 64 decomp, it ships no game data: it takes the assets from your own ROM set.
You need: Your own OutRunners arcade ROM set (MAME's orunners, World) as orunners.zip. Windows, Linux or macOS; the Switch build needs a console running Atmosphere and your own keys. No game data is included, and anything the tools build must never be shared.
How to play OutRunners on PC
- Download the package for your system from the creator's GitHub releases.
- Put your own orunners.zip beside the game (or drop it on the window when asked).
- Pick OutRunners Arcade or the 16:9 home version and race.
