MASHUP: PIXELMON PUTS POKÉMON BATTLES, TRADING AND BREEDING INTO MINECRAFT

Pixelmon: the long-running Pokémon-in-Minecraft mod, with catching, battling, trading and breeding

Pixelmon, by the Pixelmon team, is one of the oldest and biggest crossover mods around: it puts Pokémon into Minecraft: Java Edition, with the Pokémon themselves, turn-based battling, trading and breeding, plus Poké Balls, TMs, Apricorns, new ores and decorative blocks. The team says it has been running for over a decade; its official Modrinth page went up in May 2022 and has passed 5.2 million downloads there. The latest version, 9.4.2, came out on 22 October 2026 for Minecraft 1.21.1 on NeoForge. It is a rival to Cobblemon, the other big Pokémon mod on the wire, which takes a more block-style approach. It is a free fan mod: download it only from the official Modrinth page or the team's own site.
