GRAN TURISMO 4 IN A BROWSER TAB: PS2 WEB RECOMP TURNS YOUR DISC INTO WEBASSEMBLY
PS2 Web Recomp: PS2 games statically recompiled to WebAssembly from your own disc

snuri00's PS2 Web Recomp translates a PS2 game's Emotion Engine code ahead of time into C++ and compiles it to WebAssembly. The rest of the console is emulated by a runtime that draws with WebGPU. Its scripts build the page on your own machine from a disc image you own. Gran Turismo 4 plays from boot through races at full PAL speed in Chrome on an integrated GPU. God of War II reaches combat at 60fps with no game-specific code. It follows the same method as the author's earlier psp-web-recomp.
You need: A disc image of a PS2 game you own, plus the build tools listed in the README. No game data included, and nothing is hosted for you.
How to play
- Read the README on GitHub.
- Run the scripts on your own disc image to generate a local web page.
- Open it in Chrome. Only a couple of titles are tested.
