NO EMULATOR, NO MERCY: PS3RECOMP v0.14 REVS UP VULKAN ON THE BACK OF TWISTED METAL
PS3Recomp v0.14: the PS3 static recompiler gets Vulkan muscle from a Twisted Metal port

sp00nznet's PS3Recomp translates PS3 game binaries ahead of time into C++ you compile into a native PC executable, with no emulator. v0.14.0 (Oct 13) is mostly community work, 28 pull requests from five contributors, driven by a Twisted Metal port on Linux: a deferred-renderer-ready draw engine, Vulkan stencil, cube maps and RGBA16F targets, and SPURS fixes that cut one Twisted Metal post-FX frame from 4.1 seconds. It follows v0.13.0 (Oct 7), the first release with two titles in game: The Simpsons Arcade Game playing a two-player online match over psnr, and Tornado Outbreak rendering its first level. It's a developer toolkit, not a one-click game download.
You need: A developer toolkit: Windows or Linux build tools, and game files dumped from a PS3 disc you own. Ships engine code only, no game content. Per-game ports are early and not one-click.
How to play
- Read the README and docs in the ps3recomp repo.
- Dump your own PS3 game files and follow a per-title port's build guide.
- Expect bugs: only a couple of titles reach in-game so far.
