PS5 homebrew now runs Windows games: prospero-win, PS5 Proton and PSBox
The PS5 homebrew scene just got a PC side. prospero-win by mpereiraesaa (v0.2.0, Oct 10) is an open-source Windows compatibility runtime for homebrew-enabled PS5s, using its own copy of Wine, DXVK and a custom 32-bit x86 translator. The developer lists Half-Life 2 at 60 FPS, GTA IV: The Complete Edition at about 55 FPS at 1080p, Half-Life, Counter-Strike 1.6 and Warcraft III as playable. Mihawk is showing PS5 Proton, which runs 32- and 64-bit Windows games through Valve's Proton layer, and RafaelNGP released PSBox, an Xbox Cloud Gaming app for jailbroken PS5s. Viral claims of Windows 7 and the Steam client on PS5 aren't backed by any source we can find. prospero-win doesn't bypass DRM or ship games.
