headshot2017's sm64-san-andreas is an ASI plugin for GTA San Andreas that uses libsm64, the library that turns Super Mario 64's own movement code into a drop-in character, so you can run, jump, triple-jump and dive around San Andreas as N64 Mario. Press M in game to swap between Mario and CJ. The latest pre-release is from May 2025 and the project is still marked as under development. It is one of a family of libsm64 crossovers, alongside ckosmic's G64 for Garry's Mod and KodyJKing's SMC64 for Halo: Combat Evolved.
You need: Your own copy of GTA San Andreas for PC at version 1.0 (the old delisted Steam version needs the San Andreas Downgrader; the Definitive Edition doesn't work), Silent's ASI Loader, and your own Super Mario 64 US ROM dump named sm64.us.z64 in the game folder. The plugin includes neither game.
How to play
- Download sm64-san-andreas-release.zip from the Releases page and extract it to your GTA San Andreas scripts folder (with Silent's ASI Loader installed).
- Put your own Super Mario 64 US ROM in the game folder as sm64.us.z64.
- Start the game and press M to switch between Mario and CJ.
