Smash Remix, organized by The_Smashfather, is a huge Super Smash Bros. 64 mod that drops fighters from other franchises into Nintendo's 1999 brawler with full movesets of their own. Version 2.0.0 (June 2025) added Crash Bandicoot alongside Peach, Roy, Dr. Luigi and Lanky Kong, joining earlier guests such as Sonic (with Super Sonic), Banjo & Kazooie and Conker, plus stages, items and options like Melee or Ultimate hitlag and smarter CPUs. v2.0.1 in March 2026 is the latest release, a balance and costume patch. It is a patch, not a ROM: you apply it to your own Smash 64 dump, and it needs the 8 MB Expansion Pak setting.
You need: Your own copy of Super Smash Bros. for N64 (your own ROM dump to patch) and an emulator or flash cart with the 8 MB Expansion Pak enabled.
How to play
- Download the latest release zip from the Smash Remix GitHub releases page.
- Drag your own Smash 64 ROM onto the patcher for your system (windows-drag-here, osx-drag-here or linux-patcher.sh).
- Load the patched ROM with the Expansion Pak enabled.
