NINTENDO SWITCH 2 JAILBROKEN WITH NO MODCHIP, THROUGH A $25 CODING APP
Switch 2 gets its first software-only jailbreak, ns2jb, through SmileBASIC 4

Security researcher Sammy Hajhamid (pepsipu) released ns2jb, which he calls the first software-only jailbreak for the Switch 2. It runs native code on firmware 23.0.1, the latest at release, and gets in through SmileBASIC 4, a Switch 1 programming app that also runs on Switch 2. It is tethered: it needs a connected computer and is gone every time the console restarts, and it does not install custom firmware. His demo showed Mario Kart World modded with Hatsune Miku, Cinnamoroll and Peter Griffin, and he says OpenAI's Codex helped (his own account, not independently checked). SmileBASIC 4 then appeared to vanish from the US and European eShops; outlets could not confirm whether Nintendo or the developer SmileBoom removed it. Nintendo has said nothing publicly.

How to play
- Read the coverage to see what ns2jb can and can't do.
- Don't update your console if you want to keep the option open.
- Wait for a persistent, documented release before trying anything.
