VIRTUA FIGHTER 3 GOES NATIVE: SEGA ARCADE CLASSIC RECOMPILED FOR PC, MAC AND STEAM DECK
Virtua Fighter 3 (Sega Model 3 arcade) recompiled to native Mac, Windows and Steam Deck code

mr-finster, who made the Virtua Fighter 2 recomp, now has Virtua Fighter 3 (Sega Model 3, 1996). The arcade board's PowerPC program is recompiled to native ARM64 or x86-64 code from your ROM each time it starts, and checked frame by frame against its own interpreter. It runs up to 6x resolution, in widescreen, at a smooth 120 fps. v0.1.3-alpha came out Oct 20, a day after the repo opened, v0.1.5-alpha followed the same day, and a v0.1.7 online-play preview build arrived on Oct 23. It's still an early alpha.
You need: Your own dump of Virtua Fighter 3 in MAME's vf3.zip format. No ROMs or anything made from them are included.
How to play Sega Model 3 on PC
- Download the latest alpha build for your system from Releases.
