OCARINA OF TIME'S SWITCH 2 REMAKE ALREADY BOOTS ON PC IN A NEW RECOMP, NOT PLAYABLE YET
Ocarina of Time PC Recomp: research project reaches the title screen of the Switch 2 remake

Nintendo's Switch 2 remake of Ocarina of Time went on sale on 5 November, and a public research project to recompile it for PC opened the same day. Jeff Aigner's Ocarina of Time PC Recomp isn't playable and has no release. Its README, dated 5 November, says the game's code lifts to C and builds into a Windows program that runs its whole start-up without a crash, with the boot logo drawn at 60 fps through translated shaders. It stops at the title screen, a looping movie that the game's neural upscaler still turns black, and 656 skinning shaders and the mesh stages are still to do. This is the first Switch 2 game on the code that began with valentderah's TotK Recomp, and the Switch 2's new shader format needed a new translation step: 93.6% of the game's 14,363 shader programs now convert. The same developer's Metroid Prime 4 recomp is also on the wire. The repo holds no game content.
You need: Nothing to play yet. Building it needs your own dump of the Switch 2 game, the keys from your own console and the toolchain in the README. No game content is included.
