SILENT HILL 2 NOW RUNS NATIVE ON THE NINTENDO 3DS, AND v0.3 FIXES ITS COMBAT
sh23ds: Silent Hill 2 runs as a native Nintendo 3DS port
ankushKun's sh23ds is a new engine written in C for the 3DS that plays Silent Hill 2 from the PC Director's Cut files, with the Enhanced Edition's fixes, on both the New 3DS and the original 3DS. Version 0.3.0 (31 October) gives both consoles one control layout, adds a D-Pad quick heal, times combat against the PC version (enemies no longer act twice as often at 60 fps, Mannequins get their full health), and brings room lights and shadows plus a smoother picture. A browser packer on the project site turns your own game files into the 3DS data. No game files are included.
You need: Your own copy of Silent Hill 2 for PC (Director's Cut), and a 3DS or New 3DS that can run homebrew. No game files are included.
How to play Silent Hill 2 on PC
- Download sh23ds.cia or sh23ds.3dsx from the v0.3.0 release.
- Pack your own Silent Hill 2 PC files with the browser packer on the project site.
- Copy the packed data to your SD card and launch sh23ds.
