alondero's AeroGauge: Recompiled is a native version of the 1997 Nintendo 64 hover racer AeroGauge that runs your own copy of the game in a native window, with an in-game settings screen. Release builds cover Windows 10+ with Direct3D 12, Linux on x64 or ARM64 with Vulkan, and Android 9+ on ARM64 with touch controls and ROM import. The README says some visual enhancements and less common hardware paths still need more testing. Version 0.7.0 is the latest release. The same creator also made the Automobili Lamborghini recomp already on the wire.

AeroGauge (N64) → Windows, Linux, Android · by alondero · 2026-10-26

You need: Your own USA or Japanese Rev A AeroGauge ROM (.z64, .n64 or .v64) dumped from your cartridge. Windows needs Direct3D 12; Linux and Android need Vulkan. No ROM is included.

How to play AeroGauge on PC

  1. Download the archive or APK for your system from the releases page.
  2. Start aerogauge_modern (or the Android app) and choose your own ROM.
  3. Race; settings are in the in-game menu.
