Athelas is a free, unofficial launcher that lets you play your own copies of EA's Lord of the Rings games on a modern Windows PC from one place. It bundles ROTK Fix for the 2003 PC version of The Return of the King, plus native PC ports of the Xbox versions of The Return of the King, The Two Towers and, new in 1.4, The Fellowship of the Ring. Version 1.5 and 1.5.1 landed on 23 October as one zip. The creator, Shagg, says it was built with help from Claude and has only been tested on their own Windows PC, so expect a few bugs. It follows The Two Towers Recompiled, the Xbox recomp we covered on 22 October. No game files are included.
