Maxilure's Mind over Recomp is an unofficial native PC port of Crash: Mind over Mutant (2008), the Radical Entertainment platformer that only ever came out on consoles. The Xbox 360 program is translated to C++ ahead of time with ReXGlue, and the installer builds the game on your own PC from an ISO of your disc. It has its own Vulkan renderer that goes up to 4K, 60 fps at the original game speed, keyboard and mouse with rebindable keys, and options menus in the game's own style. 120 fps, 144 fps and uncapped work experimentally, and so does co-op for four players instead of the original two. The port keeps replacing the emulated Xbox parts around the game: 24 of 66 system services are done so far. v0.2.0 and the v0.2.1 installer fix landed on 6 November. It's an alpha: playable, but not yet played through to the end, and only NVIDIA graphics cards have been tested. The 0.2 line is Windows only for now, with Linux players staying on 0.1.0. The creator says the code and docs were largely written by AI, with the maintainer setting the direction and testing every change.
