TalhaMudo's NFSU2Recomp statically recompiles the original Windows PC executable of Need for Speed: Underground 2 (SPEED2.EXE, 32-bit x86, Direct3D 9) into a native ARM64 macOS app: 23,278 functions are lifted to C and compiled with clang, Direct3D 9 is translated to Metal and DirectSound to CoreAudio, with no Wine, CrossOver, emulator or JIT at run time. Per the README, races run at 119 fps on an M1 Pro against 10 to 15 fps for the same game under Wine; the game boots, reaches the menus and races are playable with sound. v2.0 (Oct 25) was the English release and v2.1 (Oct 26) adds support for the North American v1.2 executable. It is a Mac take on the same game as codepdbh's NFSU2 Recompiled, already on the wire, which recompiles the Xbox 360 version for Windows.
