CIVILIZATION II DECOMPILED: OPENCIV2 BUILDS NATIVELY FOR WINDOWS, LINUX AND MAC
OpenCiv2: Civilization II decompiled to portable C++ with native Windows, Linux and Mac builds

Richard Penman's OpenCiv2 reconstructs the source of Sid Meier's Civilization II: Multiplayer Gold Edition (1998) as portable C++ that runs natively on Linux, macOS and Windows, aiming to prove it behaves exactly like the original: the same screens pixel for pixel and the same random numbers on recorded games. The Windows API the game used is reimplemented in portable C over SDL2. A rolling pre-release build (Oct 22) sets the game up from your own copy of Multiplayer Gold Edition, with music from a disc image of its CD.
You need: Your own copy of Civilization II: Multiplayer Gold Edition (plus its CD image for music). Windows, Linux x86-64 or macOS (Apple silicon or Intel).
