PROJECT GOTHAM RACING GETS A NATIVE PC PORT 25 YEARS ON
Project Gotham Racing (original Xbox) gets a native PC port by static recompilation

hk21x has released v1.0 of an unofficial native PC port of the original Xbox Project Gotham Racing. The game's x86 code is statically recompiled into a Windows program with the Xbox XBE Recomp tool (the same tool behind Black and Shaolin Monks ports on the wire), and the Xbox graphics, sound and system libraries are rebuilt for Direct3D 12 or 11, XAudio2 and SDL, with extended graphics options. It is not an emulator. A one-click launcher builds the game on your PC from your own disc. Only the European (PAL) release is confirmed so far.
You need: Your own PAL Xbox copy of Project Gotham Racing (disc image or folder). Windows 10/11 64-bit, a D3D12/11 GPU, about 15 GB free and an internet connection for the build tools. No game assets are included.
How to play Project Gotham Racing on PC
- Download PGR1Launcher.exe from the v1.0 release.
- Point it at your own PAL disc image and let it build the game.
- Launch and race.
