SUPER SMASH BROS. RUNS NATIVE ON THE ORIGINAL XBOX
SSB-X: Super Smash Bros. ported to the original Xbox from the Dreamcast port

Team Resurgent's SSB-X is a native original-Xbox port of the 1999 N64 Super Smash Bros. It's built from ssb64-dc, jnmartin84's Dreamcast port of the decompiled game, the same way as the team's Ocarina of Time and Mario Kart 64 Xbox ports. The Dreamcast port's game code is compiled unchanged, and the parts of KallistiOS it runs on (graphics, sound, controllers, memory card, threads and timers) are rebuilt on the Xbox's own hardware. Everything taken from the game is generated from your own ROM on your machine. A build script on Windows installs the tools it needs.
You need: Your own US v1.0 Super Smash Bros. ROM (the README lists the SHA-1), Windows 10 or 11, about 3 GB of disk space, and a modded original Xbox or an Xbox emulator. No game data is included.
How to play Super Smash Bros. on PC
- Clone the repo and run build.bat on Windows. It installs missing tools.
- Point the build at your own US v1.0 ROM.
- Copy the built game to a modded original Xbox and play.
