Live & Recompiled: Conker: Live & Reloaded statically recompiled into a native PC game
Live & Recompiled, by giacomozama, is an unofficial native PC port of Rare's Conker: Live & Reloaded (original Xbox, 2005) for Windows and Linux, built on a heavily modified version of TGP482's Xbox XBE Recomp, the same tool behind the Black, Splinter Cell: Double Agent and 007 recomps on the wire. The README says single player is playable start to finish, with 60, 120, 180 or 240 fps instead of 30, any aspect ratio including ultrawide, anti-aliasing and extra post-processing, Xbox, PlayStation and Switch pads with rumble or mouse and keyboard, and skippable cutscenes; split-screen multiplayer and Solo Dumbots work but are lightly tested, and LAN/online is untested. v1.0.0 and v1.0.1 went up on 28 October. The creator says all first-party code was written by an LLM and not reviewed line by line. It joins Conker's Bad Fur Day Reloaded and the N64 Conker recomp already on the wire. No game code or assets ship: Setup extracts and recompiles the game from your own copy on your PC.
You need: Your own Conker: Live & Reloaded: the USA disc (as an ISO or extracted files) or the Xbox Store backward-compatibility version, which the creator says is fully compatible. Windows or Linux x86-64; Setup downloads a compiler once and takes several minutes.
How to play Conker: Live & Reloaded on PC
- Download LiveAndRecompiled for Windows or Linux from the creator's GitHub releases page and unpack it.
- Run setup-windows.exe (or ./setup-linux) and point it at your own game files; it extracts and recompiles the game.
- Launch the game; press Esc for settings (frame rate, aspect ratio, controls).
