BURNOUT 2: POINT OF IMPACT GOES NATIVE ON PC: v1.12 ADDS HDR AND 4-PLAYER CONTROLS
Burnout 2: Point of Impact recompiled into a native Windows game, now with HDR and four-player remapping

timftw21's Burnout 2: Point of Impact Static Recompilation turns the original Xbox release of Criterion's crash racer into a native Windows program, with experimental Linux, Steam Deck and macOS builds. It is not an emulator: the installer builds the game on your machine from your own US Xbox disc image. v1.12, out today, makes resolution, aspect ratio, antialiasing, draw distance and Clean HUD changes apply while you play, adds optional HDR output on Windows, adds controller remapping for up to four players, and fixes the last animated-text trails at high refresh rates. The project first shipped v1.0 on 9 October and has had 13 releases since. The developer says AI (Codex) helped build it, and calls it still in development. It joins the wire's other Burnout recomps of Burnout 3: Takedown and Burnout Revenge.
You need: Your own copy of the US Xbox release of Burnout 2: Point of Impact as an XISO disc image. Game files are not included. Windows; Linux, Steam Deck and macOS builds are experimental and need testing.
How to play Burnout 2: Point of Impact on PC
