DRAGON QUEST VIII GETS AN EARLY NATIVE PC AND MAC RECOMP
DQ8 Recompiled: Dragon Quest VIII native on PC and Mac

Sinan Karakaya's DQ8Recomp is an experimental native port of the PS2 Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King, built with PS2Recomp. The game's MIPS code is translated to C++ on your own machine and linked to a runtime, with SDL3 GPU graphics. The NTSC-U release boots, loads saves and reaches field gameplay with sound from the game's own drivers, but steady performance and full-game compatibility are still in progress. Builds are out for Windows, macOS and Linux.
You need: Your own North American Dragon Quest VIII disc image (SLUS-21207) and about 8 GB free. It's a development build, not a finished port.
