GOLDENEYE 007 RUNS NATIVE ON IPHONE AND IPAD, AND YOU CAN NOW BUILD IT ON A WINDOWS PC
GoldenPad 0.3: native GoldenEye 007 on iPhone and iPad, now buildable from a Windows PC
chrissotraidis, who made the KartPad, SunPad and BlueWake ports on the wire, has released GoldenPad 0.3.0 (1 November): GoldenEye 007 as native ARM64 code for iPhone, iPad and (in alpha) Apple Silicon Macs, with Metal rendering, touch controls, game controllers, saves and local multiplayer groundwork. It builds on cblock85's GoldenEye64Recomp. You build your own copy from your own US GoldenEye 007 ROM with the PadMint tool; 0.3.0 adds an experimental way to do that on a Windows 11 PC, which the release notes say has not yet been tested on a device. The app shell contains none of the game's code. Developer preview.
You need: Your own US GoldenEye 007 (N64) cartridge dump, PadMint 0.5.27 or newer, and a way to sideload (e.g. Sideloadly). iOS/iPadOS 17 or later. No game files are included.
How to play GoldenEye 007 on PC
- Get PadMint from its latest release and choose GoldenPad.
- Point it at your own US GoldenEye 007 ROM; it builds the game module on your Mac or PC.
- Sideload the finished app to your iPhone or iPad.
