THE ORIGINAL RESIDENT EVIL IS FULLY DECOMPILED AND PLAYABLE ON MODERN PCS
Resident Evil 1 PC decomp hits v1.4.1: the whole 1997 game rebuilt on Direct3D 11 and OpenGL

ecruells' Resident Evil 1 for PC Decompilation rebuilds the 1997 PC release's own code, reverse-engineered with Ghidra, on modern renderers: Direct3D 11 and XAudio2 on Windows, OpenGL and SDL2 on Linux. The creator calls it functional-complete, with every room, enemy, cutscene, FMV and ending playable, and 1,716 of 1,717 game-logic functions done. Capcom's old DirectX 5 'Marni' layer is re-implemented from scratch. v1.4.1 on 23 October fixes Director's Cut mode forcing western difficulty, alt-tab and a Saturn-mode music bug.
