projectedan's McRae05-XBE-Recomp is an unofficial native Windows port of the original Xbox version of Codemasters' Colin McRae Rally 2005, built with TGP482's Xbox XBE Recomp tool (the same tool behind the 007: From Russia with Love port). The first start compiles the game's code for your PC once. It adds modern controller support, 64-bit, fullscreen, borderless or windowed play at any resolution, steady 60 fps frame pacing and an F1 overlay menu (Back + Start on a pad) whose changes save to settings.toml. Only the US (NTSC) Xbox release is supported; the port warns if it finds another region's default.xbe. A PC version already exists, but the author's aim is a more accessible, modernised way to play. v0.1.0-beta landed Oct 28. No game assets are included.
