TIMESPLITTERS 2 RECOMPILED: FREE RADICAL'S XBOX SHOOTER RUNS NATIVE ON PC
TimeSplitters 2 (Xbox) recompiled to native PC, Mac and Linux
split2-recomp turns the original Xbox release of TimeSplitters 2 into a native program for Windows, macOS (Apple Silicon) and x86-64 Linux, SteamOS and Steam Deck included. You point it at your own PAL or USA disc image or folder and it builds the game on your machine, so the repo and releases carry no game code or data. The first build went up on 30 September; v0.5.2 (Oct 27) brings Windows fixes and better Android performance. A separate recomp of the first TimeSplitters, by GTTeancum, is also in the works.
You need: Your own TimeSplitters 2 Xbox disc, PAL or USA (.iso, .xiso or a folder of the disc's files). Other releases are refused. Vulkan drivers needed.
How to play TimeSplitters 2 on PC
- Download the file for your system from the latest release.
- Unzip it and run split2, pointing it at your own disc image or folder.
- Let it build the game once, then play.
