SUPER SMASH BROS. MELEE NOW FIGHTS ON YOUR MAC DESKTOP: FIGHTERS ON THE DOCK, NO EMULATOR
Desktop Melee turns your Mac's desktop into a Super Smash Bros. Melee stage

Mwrnk's Desktop Melee runs Super Smash Bros. Melee's real game code, built from the community Melee decompilation via melee-pc and aurora, inside one transparent, click-through window over your Mac's desktop. Final Destination's floor is stretched across the width of your Dock, the screen edges are the blastzones, and stocks and percents sit in a black island around the MacBook notch, while your apps keep working underneath. A menu bar app sets up the match: characters and costumes with Melee's own portraits and announcer, CPU levels, controller ports, button maps, fighter size and HUD placement, and a shortcut (Ctrl+Option+M by default) pauses and hides the fighters. Because it is the decompiled game, not an emulator, movement, hitboxes and knockback are exactly Melee's. v0.1.1 beta landed on Oct 28 for Apple Silicon Macs; Windows and Linux are in progress. It joins Melee Unlocked and other projects built on the finished Melee decomp.
You need: An Apple Silicon Mac on macOS 27 or later, a controller, and your own Super Smash Bros. Melee disc image (USA 1.02). The app is not notarized, so macOS blocks it the first time. No game data is included.
