Valiantsin Dzerakh (valentderah) has released TotK Recomp, a static recompilation of Nintendo's 2023 Switch game The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom into a native Windows x86-64 program with a Vulkan renderer, not an emulator. The setup builds the game once on your own PC from your own dump of the base game plus the 1.2.1 or 1.4.3 update; no game files are included. Per the README it is playable but early (visual bugs and crashes expected), runs at 60 fps by default with an experimental mode up to 144 fps, and adds custom resolutions, supersampling, AMD FSR 1, an in-game settings menu (F1), a performance overlay (F10), keyboard, mouse and gamepad remapping with rumble and gyro, and shaders prepared at install. Linux, Steam Deck, emulator-mod loading and ultrawide are planned. The repo passed 330 stars and the v0.1.1 setup about 2,400 downloads within hours of going up on Oct 29. It credits LAS Recomp, MacNativeGames, SavageWindRecomp and Ryujinx among its building blocks, and the maintainer says most code is written by AI coding agents under their direction. It lands days after kuraeow's UltraTears beta builder and OJZen's TotK native port for Mac and iPad.
