ZELDA: TEARS OF THE KINGDOM GETS ANOTHER NATIVE PC RECOMP, UP TO 240 FPS WITH DLSS
Weeping of the Empire: a second native Windows recomp of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, up to 240 fps with DLSS

Weeping of the Empire turns your own dump of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom (Switch, version 1.0.0) into a native Windows game: the ARM64 code is recompiled ahead of time to x86-64 and graphics run on Vulkan, with no emulator. It offers frame rates from 30 up to 240 fps, DLSS, FSR 1 and SMAA, keyboard and mouse with controller support, an in-game F10 settings window, and save import and backups. The developer reports about 116 to 120 fps at a 120 fps cap at 1440p on a Ryzen 7 9800X3D and RTX 5080, measured on one PC only. It is early: v0.1.5 landed on 31 October after five releases in two days, first visits stutter while shaders build and some visuals still differ from the Switch. The README credits totk-recomp, LAS Recomp, MacNativeGames and Savage Wind Recomp, says it reimplements a few ideas from valentderah's totk-pc-recomp (already on our wire), and says most of the code was written by AI coding agents directed by one developer.
You need: Your own dump of Tears of the Kingdom version 1.0.0 (.nsp or .xci) and your own prod.keys, Windows 10/11 x64, a Vulkan 1.3 GPU, an AVX2 CPU, and about 75 GB free on an NTFS drive. The Setup exe is not code-signed. No game files are included.
How to play The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom on PC
- Download the Setup exe from the latest release.
- Point it at your own version 1.0.0 dump and prod.keys and pick a folder with about 75 GB free.
- Let it decrypt and recompile locally (30 to 60 minutes, internet needed), then launch from the desktop shortcut.
