XCX Recomp, by jmars125, is a static recompilation of Monolith Soft's Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition (Nintendo Switch, 2025) into a native Windows x86-64 application, not an emulator. It is a fork of TotK Recomp, the Tears of the Kingdom recomp on the wire, and also credits LAS Recomp, MacNativeGames and SavageWindRecomp, the Switch recomp tools that have spread through the scene this autumn. The README calls it early development, but says New Game, cutscenes and gameplay already run with sound, text and menus at 60 fps by default (30 to 360 in settings; above 60 is experimental), with update 2.0.0 and the Exploration Support Package add-on supported, an F1 settings menu, an F10 performance overlay, and keyboard, mouse and gamepad. The first build went up on 31 October and v0.1.8 followed hours later, adding a Linux AppImage of the setup tool; Linux, Steam Deck, emulator-mod support and ultrawide are planned. No game files are included: the XCX-Setup tool builds the game once from your own console dump on your own machine.

Run XCX-Setup, pick your own game files, language and an install folder, and press Start (it builds the game once).
