BAYONETTA 2 GOES NATIVE ON PC: SWITCH RECOMP RUNS THE PROLOGUE AT 60 FPS
B2recomp: Bayonetta 2 (Switch) statically recompiled for Windows

K0NL has released B2recomp, an unofficial static recompilation of Bayonetta 2 (Switch) for Windows. It translates the game's AArch64 code to C on your own PC, from your own dump, and runs it with a reimplemented system layer and the NVN graphics API on Vulkan, with no emulator or JIT. The developer reports the title screen, new game and full prologue run without crashing, Chapter 1 has been played by hand with a controller, and a scripted test hits 59.5 FPS with zero faults. Later chapters and other PCs are still being tested, so expect bugs. There is no prebuilt game to download: you get the source or a builder package, and the game is compiled locally from your files. First release v0.1.0 landed 17 October, the repo's first day. It follows other Switch recomps such as Sky Recomp for Zelda: Skyward Sword HD and the Super Mario Bros. Wonder recomp.
You need: Your own Bayonetta 2 (Switch) dump made from your own console, plus Windows and a Vulkan 1.3 GPU. No game code, assets, SDK, firmware or keys are included.
