DARK SOULS COMES TO THE PS2: NEW FAN PORT REACHES FIRELINK SHRINE AND UNDEAD BURG
DarkSoulsPS2: a homebrew port of Dark Souls Remastered to the PlayStation 2

nekomancer01's DarkSoulsPS2 is a homebrew port of Dark Souls Remastered to the PlayStation 2: a new C engine with hand-written VU1 microprograms, plus Python tools that convert your own PC copy's maps, characters, animations, AI scripts and menus into PS2-sized files. The repo went up on 1 November and is being pushed daily. It's an early prototype, not a full game yet. The README lists Firelink Shrine and Undead Burg with seamless walking between them, the Warrior walking, rolling and attacking, enemies with their own AI, chests, fog walls, memory card saves, sound and a HUD, at 30 fps in the PCSX2 emulator. Lock-on, blocking, magic, bosses, other areas and cutscenes aren't in yet, and running on a real PS2 is set up but untested. The repo holds no game data and no decompiled code.
You need: Your own Steam copy of Dark Souls Remastered for PC and the PCSX2 emulator. No game files are included, and the README says never to share what the build creates.
How to play Dark Souls Remastered on PC
- Open the project page and point it at your own Dark Souls Remastered files. It builds a playable ISO in your browser and uploads nothing.
- Or use the README's container script or full ps2dev setup to build it locally.
- Run the ISO in PCSX2. Only Firelink Shrine and Undead Burg exist so far.
