Gran Turismo 2 now runs natively on Windows. The creator says the port is built from a byte-matched decompilation of the game's code running on a native PlayStation runtime, so it is not an emulator, though the repo doesn't say whose decompilation it uses and ships prebuilt binaries rather than source. It adds widescreen, sub-pixel vertices, perspective-correct textures, render scaling and a longer draw distance, and needs no BIOS. It also comes with a mod kit to export GT2's courses and textures, build tracks in Blender, and add new cars and courses with their own menu entries. Release 0.3.0 arrived on Oct 27. It follows the Gran Turismo 4 static recompilation already on the wire.

How to play Gran Turismo 2 on PC

Download the 0.3.0 release zip from GitHub and unzip it outside Program Files.
Run install-gt2.bat and pick your own disc's .cue file.
Run play-gt2.bat; F3 toggles widescreen.
