NJH-1001's Wipeout2K97XL is an unofficial native recompilation of the PlayStation racer Wipeout XL (USA, SCUS-94351), built with the PSXRecomp toolchain. Each download is a setup kit: it reads your own disc and generates and compiles the game code on your own machine, with the free OpenBIOS instead of a Sony BIOS. v0.2.0, released 23 October, adds smoother rendering on top of optional widescreen, a widescreen HUD and extended draw distance, plus configurable NeGcon-style dual-stick controls. Windows racing and controllers are user-tested; the macOS kits build and launch but gameplay there is unverified, and the earlier Linux release was tested by the creator on Steam Deck.

How to play Wipeout XL on PC

Download the setup kit for your system from the Releases page and extract all of it to a writable folder.
Run Wipeout2K97XL, keep OpenBIOS selected, choose your CUE file and click Generate & rebuild.
Reopen the setup program after compiling to launch your local build.
