SMASH BROS. MELEE GOES NATIVE ON PC: DECOMP PORT ADDS ONLINE AND RANKED PLAY
Super Smash Bros. Melee gets a native PC port built from the decomp, v0.4.2 beta out

melee-pc (a working name) is a native PC port of Super Smash Bros. Melee (NTSC-U 1.02), built from the doldecomp/melee decompilation on top of aurora, the GameCube compatibility layer that also powers the Dusklight Twilight Princess port, with SDL3 and a WebGPU backend. The beta branch has LAN play, internet friend codes, unranked matchmaking and ranked best-of-three sets, with rollback netcode still in development. There are partial iOS and in-browser builds too, all loading from your own disc image. v0.4.2 landed Oct 21. It's a beta for testing, so expect crashes and missing features. It's a different project from the Melee Unlocked mod already on our wire.
You need: Your own Super Smash Bros. Melee disc image (USA revision 2, NTSC-U 1.02, GALE01). PAL boots experimentally. No game data is included.
