GRAN TURISMO 4 GOES NATIVE ON PC: NEW PS2 RECOMP RUNS A LOCKED 60 FPS UP TO 8K
GT4Recomp: Gran Turismo 4 statically recompiled into a native Windows game, v1.2.5 out

moesuito's GT4Recomp is an unofficial native Windows port of Gran Turismo 4 (NTSC-U, SCUS-97328). The game's own PS2 code is translated ahead of time into C++ and compiled to native code: the main CPU and every VU0 and VU1 microprogram run as native code with no interpreter on the normal path, and nothing generates code while the game runs. The PS2 hardware it talks to is reproduced in software, with graphics on Vulkan through a GSdx-based renderer. The creator reports a locked 60 FPS at full game speed in every scene they test, 1080p out of the box with 1440p, 4K and 8K options, and native ultrawide or any aspect ratio with the HUD kept at 16:9. Because no code is generated at runtime, the README says Android and iOS builds are possible later. Version 1.2.5 is the current release, with a 1.3.0 release candidate also posted. It builds on the same static-recompilation wave as the PS2Recomp projects already on the wire.
You need: Your own copy of Gran Turismo 4 for PS2, US release (SCUS-97328), Windows 10/11 64-bit and a Vulkan GPU. No game data is included.
